{"id":1345,"date":"2022-06-06T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2022-06-06T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.afrilabs.com\/index.php\/2022\/06\/06\/digital-entrepreneurship-in-africa-case-studies-of-nigeria-and-south-sudan\/"},"modified":"2022-06-06T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2022-06-06T00:00:00","slug":"digital-entrepreneurship-in-africa-case-studies-of-nigeria-and-south-sudan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.afrilabs.com\/index.php\/2022\/06\/06\/digital-entrepreneurship-in-africa-case-studies-of-nigeria-and-south-sudan\/","title":{"rendered":"Digital Entrepreneurship in Africa: Case Studies of Nigeria and South Sudan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The book Chapter\u00a0<\/span><b>&#8216;Digital Entrepreneurship in Africa: Case Studies of Nigeria and South Sudan&#8217;,\u00a0<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">based on the <\/span><b>Female Entrepreneurs Support Program (FESP), <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">has been published <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">by Palmgrove, in the book titled\u00a0<\/span><b>Digital Service Delivery\u00a0in Africa<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">FESP is a collaborative initiative by AfriLabs member hubs and AfriLabs Capacity Building Program (ACBP) award winners: \u2018<\/span><b>TechQuest STEM Academy\u2019 (Nigeria)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><b>\u2018Junub Open Space\u2019 (South Sudan)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The\u00a0book chapter written by the collaborating hubs <\/span><b>aligns with one of the strategic pillars of Afrilabs on Research, Evidence and Learning.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The book chapter provides an evidence base for entrepreneurs\u00a0in 2 African countries\u00a0and provides a pathway for insights into Africa.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">FESP funded by ACBP and AFD through the Digital Africa Seed fund, directly impacted over 700 female entrepreneurs from Nigeria and South Sudan and engaged over 90 experienced mentors across 13 countries.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The program provided capacity building training, business support coaching and mentorship for females that intended to go into business, nascent female-led start-ups and entrepreneurs. It offered support and build capacities in terms of knowledge, skills and networks, to access markets and promote innovations through networking, mentorship and our business clinic.
